GUIDE LINES FOR TRACE MOISTURE MEASUREMENT
SUMMARY:
The measurement of the water content in medical gases and plants is regulated in different international standards, as well as in the European Pharmacopoeia, in
directives and regulations.
Depending on medical applications, compliance with a limit value for the water content in the medical gases and systems must be ensured (for example <67 ppm, <870 ppm). As a measurement method
for the continuous monitoring of the water content of the gases and pipeline systems, the coulometric measuring method has been used with a phosphorus pentoxide measuring cell. This measurement
method was applied to the standard for specific types of gases (hydrogen, oxygen, argon, helium, others).
