OILFILTER IN VEHICLES

SUMMARY:

Oil filters for the automotiv range are made of cardboard materials. This cardboard must have an exact water content. If the water content is too high, the material can not be bent sharply. If the water content is too low, the crease edge is too fibrous. During production, the cardboard is unwound from a roll and conditioned with respect to the temperature and humidity in the roller kiln. The water content of the cardboard is generally not known, due to different origin and storage. An input measurement is necessary in order to be able to regulate the drying oven accordingly. Within a period of several weeks various moisture measuring methods were examined with regard to their suitability for the measurement task.
